$252 Million Available for Regional Conservation Partnership Program

In a January press release, the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announces $252 million dollars available to locally driven, public-private partnerships that improve the nation’s water quality, combat drought, enhance soil health, support wildlife habitat, and protect agricultural viability.

The NRCS invites potential conservation partners, including private industry, non-government organizations, Indian tribes, state and local governments, water districts, and universities to submit project applications for federal funding through RCPP.

CDFA 2017 Special Crop Block Grant Program

The California Department of Food and Agriculture is accepting proposals for the 2017 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP). The purpose of the SCBGP is to fund projects that solely enhance the competitiveness of California specialty crops and aims to improve the performance of California specialty crops within local, domestic, and international markets.

Award amounts range from $50,000 to $450,000 and the maximum grant duration is two years, six months.

$40 Million in Grants Available from the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program

The Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC Program) is accepting applications for $40 million in grants to fund the purchase of agricultural conservation easements and agricultural land conservation strategies. The goal of the SALC Program is to avoid increases to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission associated with the conversion of agricultural land to urban and rural development.
