Kings Basin Water Authority Awarded Proposition 1 IRWM Planning Grant

Fresno, CA – The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) has awarded the Kings Basin Water Authority $202,817 from the Proposition 1 Integrated Regional Water Management Planning (IRWM) Grant Program to update the Authority’s 2012 IRWM Plan to be consistent with the new standards. The Authority will provide $53,235 in local cost share towards the IRWM Plan update.

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) is accepting applications for the 2016 Water-Energy Grant Program. On September 22, 2015, Governor Edmund G. Grown approved funding for the Water-Energy grant program through Senate Bill 101, which appropriated $19 million from the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to DWR to continue this grant program.

UPPER KINGS FORUM GRANT APPLICATION FOR WATER PROJECTS IS SUBMITTED BY KRCD

Fresno, CA – A major grant application has been filed by the Kings River Conservation District on behalf of the Upper Kings Basin Water Forum and two of its cooperating agencies seeking funds with which to develop additional groundwater storage.

A total of $6,863,682 is being sought as a Proposition 50 implementation grant. Local agencies would provide $6,607,030 in cost matching funds, according to David Cone, KRCD deputy general manager of Water/Environmental Resources and Flood Control.
