CDFA 2017 Special Crop Block Grant Program

The California Department of Food and Agriculture is accepting proposals for the 2017 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP). The purpose of the SCBGP is to fund projects that solely enhance the competitiveness of California specialty crops and aims to improve the performance of California specialty crops within local, domestic, and international markets.

Award amounts range from $50,000 to $450,000 and the maximum grant duration is two years, six months.

  • Local, state, federal, and tribal government entities
  • Public and private colleges and universities
Eligibility Specialty Crops:
  • Fruits, vegetables, and tree nuts
  • Culinary and medicinal herbs and spices
  • Nursery, floriculture, and horticulture crops
Funding Available:
  • CDFA anticipates up to $22 million will be awarded. Grant amounts range from $50,000 to $450,000.
